Over three days (normally three consecutive days) 9.00am – 4.30pm covering all aspects of inspection and testing of electrical equipment. The course content covers legislation, Health and Safety, and the actual inspection and testing processes. Available dates throughout the year TBA. This course will be delivered at Tiverton campus.

During your study you will cover areas such as, statutory requirements, inspecting and testing portable appliances, management of processes, completion of necessary documentation, and requirements of maintenance of electrical equipment.
Assessment takes the form of a 1 hour 45 minute On Line 50 question multichoice exam. Candidates have access to the IET Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment 4th Edition (ISBN 978-1-84919-626-0) during the exam. There is also a practical assessment to demonstrate ability to test and inspect an item of Class 1 AND Class 2 equipment and correctly complete the specified paperwork.
This course is designed for candidates who are familiar with electrical systems and hazards of electricity. Without evidence of formal qualifications candidates should be able to demonstrate adequate prior knowledge and experience to ensure they have the potential to succeed. All candidates must be at least 18 years old, awarding body requirement.
Successful completion and achievement will result in a Level 3 Certificate In In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment
Well equipped workshops and all classrooms have Smartboards.
IET Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment 4th Edition, (students provide their own.) Students should also have a non programmable calculator, pens, paper and a highlighter pen/and or tabs to mark key pages of IET code of Practice.

A: Easy answer, no. Just a basic electrical knowledge
