Adult Care Workers need to have the right values and behaviours developing competences and skills to provide high quality compassionate care and support. They are the frontline staff who help adults with care and support needs.

The apprentice will be learning adult care practices, principles and standards. Including care planning; duty of care, professional boundaries and individual dignity and respect supporting individual physical and mental well-being to help people live as independently as possible.
The Diploma in Health and Social Care level 2 (England) is completed with the support of the assessor.

There is a synoptic end point assessment which will include two distinct components - the completion of a situational judgement test answered through a multiple choice exercise, and a professional discussion.

To achieve the final certification the apprentice must have successfully completed the end point assessment, in addition to the Care Certificate and Diploma.
As this qualification is delivered in the workplace a personal tutor will require access to the apprentice for assessments and a quiet area that can be used for theory sessions.

The apprentice will have full access to the college facilities.

Q: After the units are chosen, can they be changed during the apprenticeship?
A: The mandatory units are fixed, but the optional units can be changed should the need arrive as long as the reason why has been recorded for audit purposes and the apprentice has enough time to complete the unit.

Q: Is the Diploma available not as an apprenticeship?
A: Yes, the Diploma is available by the means of other funding methods. Please contact us for more information.
