Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Electronics) - Higher Apprenticeship

The course ranges from academic college assessments and vocational assessment in the workplace.
You will work in our new Engineering Centre of Excellence facility, which opened in September 2015.
These courses are designed for individuals who are in employment in a higher apprenticeship role. The course includes the NVQ (vocational assessment), the technical certificate HNC Electronics or FdSc Electronics and Communications.
A range of assessment methods are used throughout the course including online tests, examinations, assignments, presentations, practical tasks and observations.
Entry at level 4 within the framework is flexible:
Applicants may have a variety of qualifications such as A Levels, Certificate/Diploma in Engineering, Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering
be without formal qualifications but can show, possibly through a portfolio, that they have the potential to complete this apprenticeship, through having previously worked in the sector at Level 3.
Please note: Applicants for this apprenticeship framework need to be 18+ years
This Apprenticeship provides excellent preparation towards professional registration as an Engineering Technician and progression to Incorporated Engineer registration via the Level 6 framework. It may also, where appropriate, provide progression to a range of honours degrees.
Fully equipped Electronics Laboratories and workshop supported with networked computer suite with modern software including CAD/Simulation software and Internet access.
Certificates of all previous qualifications.
We recommend you buy a scientific calculator, memory stick (USB), an A4 folder, dividers and general stationary.

Q: How often do I need to come to college?
A: Normally, you would attend day release and complete either the HNC or FdSc programme
Q: How will I know what I need to provide as evidence?
A: You will have an interview to ascertain the programme of units that would enable you to provide evidence most effectively.
