This qualification is ideal for those already working, or preparing to work within industry wishing to become a First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982.

The qualification is designed for those learners already working or preparing to work in industry and that have been identified within the company’s risk assessment of First Aid.

The course will cover the responsibilities of a first aider which include the following:
• Assessing an incident
• Managing an unresponsive casualty
• The respiratory system
Learners must undertake a practical assessment of their competence along with a short open response knowledge assessment, where learners are required to provide a short response to a prescribed series of questions.
HABC recommend the following as proof of a Learners Identity:
valid passport (any nationality);
signed UK photo card driving licence;
valid warrant card issued by HM Forces, Police;
other photographic ID card, e.g. valid warrant card issued by HM Forces, Police, employee ID
card, student ID card, travel card.
