Award in the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Level 2

This accredited qualification is for anyone who is likely to come into contact with hazardous substances within a variety of working environments including: manufacturing, cleaning, healthcare, transport, utilities and office environments. It gives learners the knowledge to recognise the risks associated with hazardous substances and how to control them.
This qualification is made up of one mandatory unit
This course will cover the following topics:
• Health effects of hazardous substances and their causes
• The value and purposes of conducting a COSHH assessment
• The principles for controlling substances hazardous to health and applying these in a practical context
• Responsibilities imposed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002
Through a 30-minute, 15-question, multiple-choice examination.
Learners must achieve a score of at least 10 out of 15 in order to pass.
There are no prerequisites for this qualification.
HABC will accept the following as proof of a learner’s identity:
o Valid Passport (any nationality)
o Signed UK Photo card Driving Licence
o Valid Warrant Card issued by HM Forces, Police
o Other photographic ID card, e.g. Employee ID Card (must be current employer), Student ID
Card, Travel card.
