Basic Sewing - Monday
Mid Devon Campus
Starts 16th September 2019 - Six weeks
Monday - 18:00 to 20:30
Our expert tutor will help and guide you through your chosen sewing project. You can learn to cut patterns for your own garment designs, make tailored items from patterns, bring along any sewing based project and use this six weeks to complete the project. Also if you are a complete beginner and want to learn/improve your skills using a sewing machine you are also very welcome.
Learn how to get the best from your sewing machine, design your own patterns and try out a variety of sewing skills and ideas.
This course is run in blocks of six weeks but it is planned to run throughout the year (in term times). Attendees can enrol for the next six week block of sessions or have the flexibility to attend for six weeks and then return again later in the year.
Throughout the weekly two and a half hour sessions you will learn the skills required for your chosen sewing project.
You can sign up for the next six week block of sessions.
We have sewing machines on site you can use or you can bring along your own sewing machine. (The machine will need to be PAT tested before you can use it, we have a technician who will PAT test your machine for you. Please contact the college's Recreational team on 01884 235245 to arrange your test.)
Tea, Coffee and biscuits are available during the session.
If this is your first session with us you will need to provide 1 to 1.5 metre of fabric of your choice for new sewing projects - the tutor has a number of ideas as starter projects e.g. apron, peg bag, tote bags.
If you have a garment/sewing project you are currently working on, please bring that to the session.
Please contact the Recreation Team on 01271 852356 for more information.
