Develop and demonstrate technical and wider sector-related knowledge to support working in our business administration role. This includes the skills, knowledge and behaviours underpinning the core tasks and responsibilities as well as wider work-related knowledge such as adding value and contributing to operational efficiencies

This course allows progression within an organisation, including management opportunities. This is an ideal opportunity for those students who want to develop their business and administration practical skills, learning on the job, as well as undertaking relevant qualifications to formalise their knowledge.

Students will attend college one day per week (term time) and also be supported and assessed in the work place on a regular basis.
You will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence in relation to knowledge, skills and behaviours and matched to workplace competencies. This will accumulating in an End Point Assessment once you have been on the programme for 12 months

End Point Assessment will consist of a knowledge test, portfolio based interview and project / improvement presentation.

There is a government requirement that employers are committed to support 20% Off the Job Training for the duration of this apprenticeship. This will be evidenced by college hours as well as in the work place (mentoring, practical training, on line and mandatory training etc).
The apprentice must be employed in the relevant industry for 30 hours per week or more. You will be required to have a Grade C/4 in English and Maths, as well as three other GCSE qualifications at grade C or above. There will be a need to study Functional skills to level 2 standard for maths and English if prior achievement cannot be evidenced.

Alternatively, you will be required to have an appropriate/relevant and completed Level 2 apprenticeship or 12 months experience within the job role.
This course can lead onto a Higher Apprenticeship or FdA in Business and Administration.
While you are enrolled at Petroc you will have full access to the college facilities.
On your first day, you will receive a student handbook and be asked to take an initial assessment.
