Business and Digital Technologies - Level 2 - Full-time (Mid Devon)

This unique course not only provides you with hands-on knowledge in Business but also opens door ways to the world of IT.
Former students from this course have received fantastic recognition; Lucy Jarrett, was honoured at the Princess Diana Award ceremony, whilst James Dawson was Highly Commended in the National BTEC Awards.
This programme gives students the opportunity to develop a broad range of knowledge and skills across the business spectrum.
Subject areas include:
- Web design
- Work experience.
Learners will also take part in an enterprise challenge which is designed to improve their entrepreneurial and team working skills.
Students are encouraged to complete two weeks work placement.
This qualification will encourage learners to develop their entrepreneurial know-how by creating a business plan and harnessing the skills which will help them to succeed in future business projects.

You will be assessed through assignment coursework and two externally set exams.
All entrants must hold 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or equivalent or above, to preferably include GCSE Maths and English at grade 3 or above.
Entrants who do not have a GCSE grade 4 in Maths and/or English will continue studying these subjects.
At the end of the year, you are expected to have completed and achieved all the components of your Level 2 Study Programme and improved your Maths and English skills before progressing to your next course.
Sudents who have successfully completed a Level 1 qualification will also be considered, as would Functional Skills in Maths and English or GCSE's at grade 3 in Maths and English.
Successful learners will have the choice of progressing to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business or the Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT, other vocational routes or employment in areas such as administration, retail, web design, hardware, software, marketing or finance either from the 'get go' or via an apprenticeship.
The programme takes place in newly refurbished rooms offering students the opportunity to learn in a vibrant and inviting environment. Students also have access to IT suites, laptops and iPads to help them conduct research and complete coursework.

Q: Are there any additional costs?
A: There are no specific course costs, although all learners should purchase a data stick. There may be some optional trips or activities will incur an additional cost.
Q: How will I be prepared for the exam units?
A: The course offers individual tailor made support plans in order to allow students to progress and develop the examination based skills needed to succeed
Q: What residential trips are on offer?
A:Traditionally the college has offered overseas trips including Paris, Budapest, Barcelona and Amsterdam as well as trips and visits closer to home - including London and the Eden Project.
