The qualification is made up of seven units

Unit 1 - Principles of people management
This unit provides you with an understanding of key issues surrounding people management, including equality and diversity, performance management,
training and development, and reward and recognition.
Topics covered are:

• Understand team building and dynamics
• Understand performance management

Unit 2 - Principles of business
This unit aims to provide you with the opportunity to increase your knowledge of business markets, innovation and growth, financial management, and the principles of marketing.
Topics covered are:
• Understand business markets
• Understand business innovation and growth
• Understand financial management
• Understand business budgeting
• Understand sales and marketing

Unit 3 - Principles of leadership and management
This unit is to equip you with an understanding of the principles of effective decision making; styles and models of leadership; the role, functions and processes of management; and an understanding of performance measurement.
Topics covered are:
• Understand the principles of effective decision-making
• Understand leadership styles and models
• Understand the role, functions and processes of management
• Understand performance measurement

Unit 4 - Understand how to improve business performance
The aim of this unit is to equip you with an understanding of the principles of resolving business problems and improvement techniques and processes. You will be able to describe problem-solving techniques and processes. You will also be able to evaluate different change management models.
Topics covered are:
• Understand the principles of resolving business problems
• Understand improvement techniques and processes
• Understand the principles of change management

Unit 7: Understand equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace
The aim of this unit is to equip you with an understanding of organisational and personal aspects of equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. You will also be able to support equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Topics covered are:
• Understand the organisational aspects of equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace
• Understand the personal aspects of equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace

Unit 9: Understand how to resolve customers’ problems and complaints
This unit is aimed at developing you understanding of different techniques and organisational procedures for dealing with customer problems and complaints. Topics covered are:
• Understand the monitoring and resolution of customers’ problems
• Understand the monitoring and resolution of customers’ complaints

Unit 10: Understand how to monitor customer service interactions and feedback
This unit is designed to equip you with the techniques for monitoring the quality of customer interactions. You will be able to identify techniques used to gather the required information and provide feedback on performance to colleagues. You will develop an understanding of how to gather and analyse customer feedback in order to recommend improvements to customer service.
Topic covered are:
• Understand how to monitor the quality of customer service interactions
• Understand how to gather, analyse and interpret customer feedback
Each unit is assessed through a written assessments made up of short answer questions. Assessments are completed online via our online assessment platform.
To enrol on this qualification we would expect you to hold a Level 2 qualification in Team Leading or equivalent and have some experience of working in a management role.

This is a knowledge based qualification, therefore, a good level of literacy, reading and writing is essential - GCSE Grade C (or higher) in English or equivalent qualification
On successful achievement of this qualification you could progress to a Foundation degree in Business.

Learning materials are paper-based - assessments can be paper-based or online
This is a distance / home study course, so you can study at your own pace and at a time to suit you. A subject specialist tutor will be allocated to you and you can email them should you have any questions relating to your course.

It is important that you can work independently and be dedicated to set time aside each week for your studies, we recommend that you allow a minimum of 4 to 6 hours a week. Remember that your study time counts towards your CPD - Continuing Professional Development.
