Career Skills - 2
Mid Devon Campus
This is a full-time study programme created for young people who are aiming for a Level 2 vocational course but do not meet the entry requirements, or those who are unsure about which course to do.
The programme will help you decide what you want to study in the future and help you get the qualifications you need to progress.
Gain the qualifications, skills and confidence to make career choices that are right for you.
The programme offers a Level 2 BTEC in Sustainability Skills together with a Level 1 Certificate in Employability Skills. We will help you find a suitable work experience placement.
You will also study English and Maths, and support is available if you need it.
There is no formal exam element to the course.
You will complete units which will be assessed by your lecturers. These units will count towards the qualification and you will be offered all the support you need to achieve your goals.
For all learners joining Entry Level Study Programmes, there are no formal entry requirements. Learners on these programmes will study English and Maths at an appropriate level to suit their ability. Students will have a one-to-one interview to discuss their personal learning needs.
Ideally you will have some academic achievement at Entry Level or have completed Career Skills Level 1 or Entry to Employment.
The desire to work throughout the year and achieve all the elements is essential.
An informal interview is part of the process and you must meet attendance targets.
Once you have completed this course, you can progress to a full time vocational course of your choice, apprenticeship, traineeship or employment.
