If you're ready to learn the more sophisticated techniques and skills of the nail beauty business, this course will give you expertise in a wide range of both theoretical and practical aspects of nail services needed to succeed in the industry.
This qualification will provide you with the skills and knowledge to work within a salon or set up as a mobile nail technician.
The course covers:
- How to promote and sell services to clients and how to enhance and maintain nails using light cured gel, including hard gels.
- How to mix and understand the chemistry of nail products.
- How to apply nail art in a professional manor
- The theoretical aspects of anatomy and physiology for hands and feet.
Having completed the course you will be able to work as a mobile nail technician or within a salon.
You will be required to undertake an end-of-year professional treatment where you can demonstrate your newly acquired skills. You will also need to take a theory exam.
All entrants must hold 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or equivalent or above, to preferably include GCSE Maths and English at grade 3 or above.
Entrants who do not have a GCSE grade 4 in Maths and/or English will continue studying these subjects.
At the end of the year, you are expected to have completed and achieved all the components of your Level 2 Study Programme and improved your Maths and English skills before progressing to your next course.
This course is available for learners aged 17+.
This is a progression route from Level 2 Beauty Therapy, VCTC Level 2 Nail Technology but is not compulsory.
You must have a willingness to learn.
You can enter into employment in the beauty or nail technology industry in a variety of posts including beauty or nail salons, cruise liners, media or photographic work, teaching and assessing, or as a mobile technician.
You will be able to train in our fabulous, purpose-built Nail Bar fitted with state-of-the-art extraction and ventilation.
You will be expected to purchase a nail kit costing approximately £300, a uniform including tunic, flat black shoes and professional black trousers.
You may be entitled to a bursary to support you with your purchase.
