On your journey to becoming a successful professional hair stylist, this is the qualification you need to build on all you have learned at Level 2. It offers the qualified stylist a career extension and development that spans skills, knowledge, experience and confidence.
This course allows you to advance your career prospects or reinforce the skills you have already gained.
You will work through modules of input, skills workshops and commercial salon work and study support classes to develop your confidence, knowledge and understanding of the topics. What's more, you will have an exciting opportunity during the study programme to attend various trade exhibitions and in-house manufacturer product awareness workshops, to give you real insight and help to prepare you for work.
During the course, you will complete a portfolio of evidence made up of written assignments and examinations as well as practical assessments. All of this will help you advance your learning or reinforce skills you have already gained within the industry.
Throughout the qualification, a range of theory and practical assessments will support your learning and test your knowledge and skills development. You will be taught by industry professional staff within our brand new modern commercial salons.
On-going assessment is by multiple choice question tests that you complete online, as well as working on clients to gain competency and confidence within this speciality field.
Throughout the qualification we will also be working on the development of your Employability Skills as well as your Maths and English.
Four D's at GCSE to include English & Maths
As well as a minimum of four GCSE's at Grade D or equivalent, learners must hold the full Level 2 Technical Certificate in Hairdressing or another equivalent qualification/industry experience.
This course will aid your progression to employment - both nationally and internationally, or you can study towards achieving your Assessors Award.
Our Lifestyle and Tourism Centre opened in 2016 and is home to our state-of-the-art nail bar, hair salon, beauty salon, tanning room, spa room (including sauna, steam room and hot tub), make-up room and training salons.
You will need to provide evidence of achieving the full NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing or equivalent and any GCSE/Functional Skills Certificates already achieved. You will also need to bring your hairdressing kit, a pen, paper and notebook.
You will be required to purchase a uniform (approx. £50) and a kit (approx. £150). It is recommended that you have your own Size 6 and/or Size 7 scissors prior to the start of the course, as the Level 3 Hairdressing Kit does not contain any equipment or tools where personal preference is key.

Q. Will I have to wear a uniform?
A. On your first day, you will come in your own clothes, you will then be expected to wear all black until your uniform arrives.
Once you have your uniform, you will be expected to wear this at all times except in GCSE or Functional Skills.
