A hands-on practical course for beginners or for those with some experience, you will look at a wide range of basic DIY skills needed to maintain your home. This course will give you an insight for the other basic DIY and certificated courses on offer.

A practical hands-on course to help you successfully tackle jobs around the home.


This course will cover:

- Using Power tool
- Using silicone sealants
- Cutting & fixing plasterboard
- Preparing to paint
- Using fillers
- Paint application
- Repairing a tap washer
- Fixing a leak
- Hang a picture/mirror
- Put up a shelf
- Put up a curtain pole
- Repair a cracked tile
- Replace a tile
- Repairing grout
- Replace a toilet seat
- Connecting a washing machine
- Easing a door & door lock.
No formal assessment
There are no entry requirements for this course - everyone is welcome.
You could progress onto a Diploma 1 in Carpentry / Trowel / Plastering / Plumbing and Decorative Occupations.
You will need to wear sturdy footwear and suitable clothing. All materials will be included.
