This course is for adults who are thinking of returning to education and need to refresh their study skills. You may have a clear idea of the direction you want to pursue, or you may want to explore a number of options. The course will help you make decisions about your future, and prepare you for progression to a vocational course, Access to Higher Education or a Foundation Degree.

The staff that teach this course, also teach on the Access to HE Level 3 and Foundation Degree courses and are experts in developing your study skills to the level require to support your success at Level 3 and Higher Education.

The course will support the development of your academic writing skills, using computers for study, Harvard referencing and the opportunity to practise your research skills and much more.
The course is assessed by internally designed assignments. Your assignments are assembled into a portfolio to achieve the final qualification.
There are no formal entry requirements to access this course. The course is designed for adults (+19) students who have studied O-levels/CSEs or GCSEs at school and are now wanting to return to education.
Part-time/full-time courses for adults such as Access to HE Science, Access to HE Health and Social Care, Access to Business and Access to Computing.
Certificates of prior qualifications achieved.

Q: Can I join this course if I have not achieved a Grade C/4 in GCSE Maths and English?
A:Yes you can, in fact many of the learners on this course have been studying their GCSE maths and/or English Language with us for the year and they join this course for the last term, prior to joining the Access to HE course in the next academic year.
