Petroc’s Chef of the Year 2017 has received his final prize – a two-day trip to MKN’s German headquarters.
Martin Brown, a student on the Level 3 Diploma in Professional Cookery, went to Wolfenbuttel accompanied by our Catering and Hospitality lecturer, Tom Lewis, for the prize tour. MKN manufactured the state-of-the-art kitchens at the Taw Restaurant, where the competition was held, and was one of the competition’s sponsors. The competition was also sponsored by Philip Dennis and Airedale.
On their tour of the headquarters, which was conducted by competition judge Stuart Brereton, Martin and Tom had the opportunity to find out about the latest kitchen equipment and also experienced German culture and cuisine.
The competition’s main prize was to cook the winning menu alongside head judge Mark Dodson at the Michelin-starred Masons Arms restaurant.
Petroc’s Chef of the Year 2018 competition is coming soon – watch this space for details on how to enter.
