Diane Dimond, Principal and CEO of Petroc, has announced that she will be retiring in August 2019. After 12 years in the private sector, Diane joined the education sector and moved to Petroc in 2011 and has led the College since 2015.
Under her leadership, the College has delivered excellent student results, sustained its Good Ofsted rating, strengthened its reputation, invested in new buildings and secured £1.2m of funding for the new Centre of Technology and Innovation Excellence (CoTIE) development. In November 2018, Petroc was confirmed as number 1 FE College in the country by FE Week.
Diane said: “I am very proud of Petroc’s achievements. This is an exceptional college, because we have a brilliant staff team who pull out all the stops to ensure that all of our learners have the opportunities they need to succeed. There is such a lot of talent in our area. I am grateful to staff, students and governors for all their hard work and support in making this a great college for the communities we serve.”
“I firmly believe that Petroc is in a very strong position with an excellent management team who are well placed to lead the College as it goes on to even more success in the future,” Diane added.
The Board is currently finalising the arrangements for appointing Diane’s successor and the post of Principal and Chief Executive Officer will be advertised in February 2019.
Kevin Finan, Chair of Governors, said: “Diane has lead with vision and a clear strategy for the future of the College. Under her leadership Petroc continues to go from strength to strength, working in a demanding sector against a difficult financial climate. The achievements we have made under Diane’s leadership are testimony to her dedication and professionalism. This level of success can only be achieved by building positive relationships with all those involved in the work of the College. For this, Diane will be missed by all those she works with and we wish her well in the future. As we search for a successor to continue our journey of delivery for our students we will be aware of the high bar set by Diane’s performance as Principal and CEO.”
