Our distance learning courses offer you the perfect opportunity to fit studying around your everyday life. Whether you’re looking to further your qualifications, develop new skills or just fancy studying in your spare time, we have a distance learning course to suit you.
We provide a wide range of support tailored to your circumstances to ensure you receive all the encouragement and help you need. If you live close to one of our campuses you are very welcome to use our extensive libraries and learning resources centres and you may also choose to access help from our student support teams. What’s more, your mentor can offer one-on-one support throughout your time with us via email or via the telephone.
Subsidised Distance Learning & E-Learning Courses
From time to time we are able to offer free courses to eligible students.
Our free distance learning courses are based around self-tutoring workbooks with end of unit assessments completed online or paper based, all course learning material you can keep for future reference. A tutor will be allocated to you to support your through your studies and give feedback on your unit assessments. All course are 16 weeks and we recommend that allow yourself 4 to 6 hours study time a week.
These course are subsidised and so there is no cost to you or employer, but if you do not complete the course inside the agreed timescale without a valid reason, you will be charged £100.

- Are you ordinarily resident in England and lived in the UK or EU for the past 3 years?

Petroc E Learning Courses
Our e learning courses are completed fully online. You will have access to the learning materials and assessments. On completion you will received a Petroc Certificate of Participation. Please note these courses are not free.
Level 3 Courses – Available through Advanced Learner Loans
The Advanced Learner Loan Scheme will allow you to take out a loan and used it pay the full or partial amount of the course fees. You will not have to pay back a penny until you are earning more than £21,000 a year
