Award in Construction Multi-skills

Suitable for 16-18 year olds, this qualification provides an ideal introduction to the construction industry. The course is all practical based, where you will gain credits through assessments.

This qualification covers the following practical areas:
– Plastering
– Bricklaying
– Tiling
– Carpentry
– Painting and decorating

All aspects of the programme will be studied through both online and classroom-based theory sessions and practical-based workshop sessions.

Your study programme will also include tutorial sessions, employment and progression – which you are required to attend. You will also study Maths and English if a GCSE at Grade C or above has not previously been achieved in these subjects.

Progression

On completion of this diploma, you may progress to a Level 1 qualification in a specific trade to specialise further. You may also wish to find an employer and qualify via the apprenticeship route.

Q: Do I need to bring equipment or clothing?

A: Yes, you will need to buy safety clothing – including boots and overalls. You are also required to provide your own stationery and textbooks. A full equipment list will be provided at interview.

– Maths and English Language development – if you have not achieved GCSE grade 4 in either of these subjects.
