The BA (Hons) in Professional Development (Business Management) is one of only a handful of programmes across the country designed for aspiring business leaders. The course draws on current theories, methods and practices to develop your leadership style and inform your approaches to business.
Over the course you will explore a range of perspectives on the nature of leadership and organisations, reflecting on your current views and how these relate to your own business experience.
The reflective and analytical nature of the study will encourage you to consider how you can develop as a business leader and increase your impact. With a focus on the emotional, intuitive, and logical experiences of work, the course considers how a balanced management approach can lead to better quality of health and employee motivation and improvements in performance. You will also explore the success of ‘next stage’ businesses to reveal the human potential at work.

Assessments
A range of individual and team assessments will track your progress. We also use a balance of traditional, written assignments, professional poster presentations and team projects.
Entry Requirements
To enter this course, you will need to have completed a Level 5 qualification in a relevant area, such as Foundation Degree in Business or Management; an HND or HNC; or, CMI or ILM Diploma Level 5. You do not need to be a recent graduate, and we encourage applications from experience.
Progression
A business degree prepares you for graduate entry to business and professional careers of any kind. At present, this programme is the highest level qualification offered by Petroc. You could take post-graduate study such as MA, MBA and PhD programmes at a range of UK universities.
