CENWAT 1 – Domestic Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters (Initial Assessment)
This course covers a wide variety of topics, including how to identify and deal with unsafe situations, finding and repairing faults and correct and incorrect installation. You will build confidence and competence to work safely in the gas industry.
Units covered in this programme include:
– Installation, exchange, commission, disconnecting of domestic central heating boilers and water heaters.
– How to service and repair domestic central heating boilers and water heaters.
– Domestic gas fired central heating
– Hot water boilers and circulators
– Combination boilers
– Storage water heaters and instantaneous water heaters of heat input = 70Kw, including Stirling engine micro-generation appliances and appliances designed to be installed to BS6798 providing heating to swimming pools by means of an indirect heat exchanger.

Assessment will be through a practical and written task to ascertain your knowledge and understanding. Once the training and assessments have been successfully completed, you will receive a certificate from the certification body. This will allow you to become Gas Safe registered.
You must have the initial Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) qualification to undertake this course.
This qualification will allow you to work on domestic gas central heating boilers.
Facilities and resources
Training takes place in our Gas Training Workshop which is fully equipped with up-to-date assessment technology to maintain current industry standard expectations.

A: Pay and display parking is available in the car park adjacent to the workshop. There is a charge of £1.20 for the full day.
