Certificate in Equality & Diversity

Every year, there are approximately 270,000 incidents of ‘hate crime’ in the UK. These crimes usually involve violence, and are committed against someone because of their disability, race, sexual orientation, religion or other characteristic. However, attitudes can be changed through the promotion of equality and diversity.

This qualification promotes social awareness and good practice of equality and diversity within a community, at work, at home and in society in general. This course is ideal whether you would like to strengthen your own knowledge, or become more socially aware in the workplace.

Units covered in this programme include:

– Equality and Diversity in Society
In this unit you will understand what is meant by the term ‘equality’ and explore the effects of stereotyping and labelling.

– Equality and Diversity in the Community
This unit will help you identify the extent of diversity that exists within a community and understand the benefits of equality and diversity.

– Equality and Diversity in the Workplace
This unit covers how equality and diversity can be promoted and maintained by employees, and will identify the benefits of a dynamic, diverse workforce.
