Certificate in Lean Organisation Management Techniques
Recent findings from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) have shown that worker productivity has continued to steadily rise since 1959. However, there is more that businesses can do to maximise worker productivity and minimise losses due to lost working days and other types of waste in a business environment.
This course will equip learners with a detailed understanding of the lean management system and how to implement business improvement techniques and employ effective team work in a business.
This course is split into three manageable units:
Lean organisation techniques in business
– The features of a lean environment
– Performing a productivity needs analysis
– Devising a map of a process
Business improvement techniques
– The principles of the Kaizen strategy
– The principles underpinning organisation of a business environment
– Using visual indicators to make improvements to the work environment
– Eliminating variance from workplace processes
Effective team work in business
– The features of an effective team
-Working effectively within a team
– What is required of a team leader
Each unit is assessed through short answer questions of at least one paragraph. Assessments are completed online via our online assessment platform.
You must be over 19 and have been resident in the UK for at least three years.
Aged 19 – 23 must hold a full Level 2 qualification.
There are no specific entry requirements for this course. This is a knowledge based qualification and therefore a good level of literacy, reading and writing is essential.
You can enrol onto other Level 2 subject specific qualifications or progress onto higher level courses.

After your induction call you will receive an email link to the learning platform which will contain your learning materials, assessments and study plan.
Q: How long will this course take to complete?
A: This is a distance / home study course, so you can study at your own pace and at a time to suit you, within a 9 week period. A subject specialist tutor will be allocated to you and you can email them should you have any questions relating to your course.
Q: How much time will I need to spend on studying each week?
A: It is important that you can work independently and be dedicated to set time aside each week for your studies, we recommend that you allow a minimum of 8 to 10 hours a week. Remember that your study time counts towards your CPD – Continuing Professional Development.
Q: How much will this course cost?
A: There is no cost for this qualification. However, if you do not complete your course inside the agreed timescale without a valid reason there will be a charge of £125.
