DAH1 – Warm Air Heating

The Domestic Air Heater (DAH1) course tests gas safety competence to install, commission, exchange, disconnect, service, repair and breakdown of domestic gas fired ducted air heaters of heat input = 70kW, including up flow, down flow and horizontal flow models.

Units covered in this programme include:
– Identifying unsafe conditions
– Diagnosing gas safety faults
– Causes and effects of split heat exchangers
– Suitable and unsuitable locations/compartments and fire proofing
– Air filters and their effects on appliance
– Requirements when combustion air is supplied by the heater’s circulating fan
– Condensate removal and disposal

Assessments

Assessment is carried out using a variety of methods, including multiple-choice, short written response and scenario questions and observed practical assessment.

Entry Requirements

You must must hold the CCN1 assessment and be able to provide written evidence of work experience on this type of appliance.

Progression

Once completed, you could become Gas Safe registered.

Facilities and resources

Training takes place in our Gas Training Workshop which is fully equipped with up to date assessment technology to maintain current industry standard expectations.

A: Pay and display parking is available in the car park adjacent to the workshop. There is a charge of £1.20 for the full day.
