Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery
This course is designed to prepare you for working in the carpentry and joinery industry.
Units covered in this programme include:
– Principles of constructing buildings
– Types of information used in building design and construction
– Health and safety
– Environmental issues
– Using carpentry and joinery hand tools
– Preparing and using carpentry and joinery portable power tools
– Producing woodworking joints.
– How to communicate with others on the job
You will undertake practical and theory assessments throughout the year.
There are no formal entry requirements, however a good understanding of maths and English will be beneficial.
Following this course you will have the option to further your skills and knowledge in your chosen area by undertaking a Level 2 qualification in either Bench Joinery, Site Carpentry or Furniture Making.
Q: Is there any funding available to help pay for my course?
A: Many of our courses are free to attend (subject to eligibility). We will carry out a fee assessment when you enrolment to establish if you meet this criteria.
