Essential Digital Skills
This qualification will enable you to demonstrate an understanding of, and competency in, the essential digital skills needed for life and work. It will enable you to engage with digital services and products in everyday life and work.
This qualification aims to:
– focus on the study of digital skills.
– offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge and skills.
– provide opportunities to acquire a number of essential digital skills.
The objectives of this qualification are to:
– build digital skills for everyday life.
– build digital skills for work.
You will learn how to:
– Be safe and responsible using online and on digital devices
– Use digital services and handle information
– Create and edit
– Understand digital communication
– Transact digitally
The course will be delivered, over 10 to 12 weeks at 3-4 hours per week, using a blended learning model of online and face-to-face tuition.

This qualification is externally set, internally marked and externally quality assured:
Entry Requirements
You will need to be able to fulfil the requirements of the learning outcomes and comply with the relevant literacy, numeracy and health and safety aspects of this qualification.
Progression
Upon successful completion of this qualification, you could progress to suitable Level 2 qualification.
