Legal T Level
T Levels combine classroom theory, practical learning and a minimum 315-hour industry placement with an employer to make sure you have real experience of the workplace. The Technical Qualification (TQ) is the main classroom-based element of the T Level and will see you learn from a curriculum that has been shaped by industry experts. T Level courses have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content will meet the needs of industry and prepare you for work. They provide the knowledge and experience needed to open the door to highly skilled employment, an apprenticeship or higher-level study, including university.
During this course, you will learn the core knowledge and skills that are needed for entry to a range of legal occupations.
You will study the following units:
– Regulation
– Professionalism and ethics
– The business environment
– Security and risk
– The fundamentals of law
– Professional services
– Research Skills
You will study Legal Services Assistant – Crime, Criminal Justice & Social Welfare as your occupational specialism. In this component you will learn how to assist with the inception, progression, and completion of legal services within a Crime, Criminal Justice and Social Welfare environment; Carry out legal and factual research and present findings; Draft Legal documents and communications.
You will also undertake a 315-hour (minimum) industry placement.
This T Level is intended to be as practical as possible. You will not only learn these skills in preparation for your career, but you’ll also be undertaking lots of practical hands-on activities, projects and tasks to give you the experience employers are looking for. You will review case law and be asked to make judgements and recommendations based on the legal research you carry out.

Assessments
The final grades are assessed via examination as well as written assessments. You must also complete the minimum 45-day placement to succeed on the course.
Entry Requirements
To be accepted onto this Level 3 programme, you must hold at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including GCSE Maths and English Language.
This must include grade 5 in English Language and Maths.
Progression
Successful completion of this qualification will open up a huge range of possible careers in the legal sector such as Paralegal, Legal Secretary, or Usher. It will give you an advantage when applying for a job or when progressing to further study.
