OFT 105E – Pipe Work, Controls & Appliances

This course is designed for engineers who wish to install oil fired boilers.

Anyone who wishes to service and/or commission oil fired boilers must also complete OFT101 or OFT102.

Assessors will provide guidance, support and assistance in a realistic environment to build confidence and competence to work safely in the gas industry.

– Fire valve installation
– Regional legislation and requirements
– Safe electrical isolation
– Knowledge of oil supply pipework
– Appliance installation
– Heating systems
– Energy efficiency

Theory based assessments will take place throughout the duration of the course.

Entry Requirements

You need to have undertaken a recognised industry training programme (OFT 50) or previously held this qualification, prior to commencing this course.


After successful completion of this course you will be able to install oil pipework and appliances.

Facilities and resources

Training takes place in our Gas and Oil Training Workshop which has several fully equipped bays, designed to assess you and aid in developing your knowledge and understanding of this industry.

A: Pay and display parking is available in the car park adjacent to the workshop. There is a charge of £1.20 for the full day.
