SEI – Safe Electrical Isolation

The aim of this course is to ensure you are fully aware of and able to put in to practice the industry Safe Working Procedure for the Isolation of Electrical Supplies. The course is underpinned by the requirements laid down in the Electricity at Work Regulations and BS7671, and looks at the relevant legislation, guidance and industry practices and employer requirements with regard to electrical safety.

When working on any electrical installation, whatever size, it is imperative that operatives apply the correct isolation procedure every time to prevent injury to themselves and other users or engineers whilst work is taking place. The industry-standard procedure has been shown to prevent injury and reduce incidents of installations being made live whilst work is being carried out.

Assessors will provide guidance, support and assistance in a realistic environment to build confidence and competence to work safely in the industry.

Units covered in this programme include:
– Understanding Health & Safety legislation
– Risk assessment and accident prevention
– Permits to work and method statements
– Lone working
– HSG.85, GS.38 and safe working practices
