Traineeships are for anyone aged 16-24 who are focused on finding employment but lack the skills and experience that employers are looking for, and are the natural route to apprenticeships or employment.
You will attend a quality work placement for 2-5 days a week with an employer. This work placement will be meaningful, structured and high quality and you will have the opportunity of a job or Apprenticeship when you successfully complete your course. Alongside a work experience placement, if necessary, you will do Maths and English functional skills or GCSE (at the relevant level for you), to improve your numeracy and literacy.
You will also complete five certificated short courses:
– Health and Safety
– Moving and Handling
– Fire Awareness
– Customer Service
– First Aid
Traineeships have various starting points throughout the year.

All the qualifications have exams; the short courses are multiple choice or practical assessments.
For all learners joining Entry Level Study Programmes, there are no formal entry requirements, however you will have a one-to-one interview to discuss your personal learning needs. You will also be required to study English and Maths at an appropriate level to suit your ability.
There are no formal entry requirements, although applicants must be able to prove at interview that they are ready for the workplace and are able to complete the necessary coursework.
All Apprenticeships have specific entry requirements and these will be discussed at interview to ensure you are aware of what you need to achieve whilst on a Traineeship to successfully progress.
Upon successful completion of this course, you may wish to move on to further education or full-time employment
