Flexibility to study when and where you want, at a pace that suits you.
LEARN FROM HOME
If you’re thinking about starting a new career or want to develop your professional knowledge but are too busy to study a more traditional method, our distance learning courses might be perfect for you.
Distance Learning courses offer you the flexibility to study when and where you want, at a pace that suits you. They’re ideal if you prefer to learn independently and need to fit study around existing work and family commitments.
We offer a huge range of courses covering Health & Social Care, Childcare & Education, Business & Finance and Health & Safety, at Levels 2 and 3. What's more, our Level 2 courses are FREE*
We also offer bitesize CPD courses which are perfect if you are looking to develop your existing skills or are taking your first steps in a new career. They have been designed to give a detailed introduction into a subject area in just four hours (on average). All of our bitesize courses are certificated, and you will receive CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points for each course you complete.
So whether you choose to study at home, a local cafe, or during your lunch break, our wide range of distance learning courses will help you to gain new qualifications and boost your career prospects.
LEARN FOR FREE*
Our Level 2 Distance Learning courses are FREE if you meet the following eligibility criteria:
**Examples of a full Level 2 qualification: 5 or more GCSE/O-levels at grades A*-C or 9-4, 2/3 AS-levels, 5 or more CSE grade 1, GNVQ Intermediate, QCF Diploma Level 2, NVQ Level 2
Need further assistance?
Our Distance Learning courses cannot be funded for individuals currently on an apprenticeship. If you are on an apprenticeship, please contact the Distance Learning office prior to making an application.
These courses are part-subsidised by the Education & Skills Funding Agency and so there is no cost to you or your employer, but if you do not complete the course inside the agreed timescale, you will be charged £125. Only one course can be studied at any one time to qualify for the full fee remission.
From August 2019, educational funding became devolved to local government in many counties in England, therefore we are unable to offer free courses to the following authority areas: Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City, Tees Valley and West Midlands. If you are unsure which area you fall under, please contact the Distance Learning Team.
If you have been out of education for a while and feel you need additional support to reach your full potential, don’t worry – your personal tutor can support you with anything from sentence structure to building your confidence!
And whilst you don’t need to attend college, if you live close to one of our North Devon or Mid Devon campuses, you can come in to access our extensive libraries and learning resource centres.
Don’t wait, start your learning journey today!
I enjoy distance learning and felt that I could manage this around my own commitments.
