Mens Football Academy
The Mens Football Academy provides a comprehensive training and match programme designed to develop all aspects of your game. Our coaches are highly experienced and are dedicated to bringing out the best in you and will focus on tactics and team cohesion.
In the Football Academy you will find an encouraging and supportive environment and, through our close links with local and regional football clubs, we will help you perform at your highest level. Throughout the programme you can expect to study a wide range of techniques, including speed and agility, decision making, game tactics, ball handling skills, positioning and team cohesion. In addition, you will participate in a strength and conditioning programme as well as receiving nutritional and sports psychology workshops.
Players are encouraged to compete in external competitions and work towards personal goals and achievements and this season we will be competing in the AoC sport SW league, the knockout cup and also the AoC SW 7 a side competition.
If there is enough interest there is also the potential to play football at a more social level as well.
Training takes place on a Monday afternoon and matches take place on a Wednesday afternoon; these will both be worked into your college timetable.
This season we have George King coaching the first team, George has completed a football coaching degree at Cardiff University and holds a UEFA B License, he also plays for Fremington.
Ladies Football Academy
The Ladies Football Academy runs on exactly the same basis as our men’s team (see above). We are coached by Clem Bennelick who is an Exeter FC in the community coach and is the coach/manager of Ilfracombe. This season we will be competing in the AoC sport SW league, the knockout cup and also the AoC South West 7-a-side competition.
