What made you pick this particular course?
I began with A-levels and decided that after an intense time doing GCSE’s I wanted to do a course that had elements of things that I loved doing which is being outside and active.
Which elements of your course do you particularly enjoy?
I particularly enjoyed how the practical sessions and theory sessions followed on from each other to help you improve from your previous session and plan for your future sessions.
What have been the highlights so far?
I really enjoyed all of our trips, it was great that we could get out of college once a week to carry out practicals in our local or not so local areas. My favourite trip overall was the ski trip to Morzine. Not only did we get the aspects of a ski holiday, but we got to try other snowsports that we could end up doing as a career.
What do you most enjoy about studying at Petroc?
Being put with a group of individuals that have a more specific interest in the same things that I do, which means that we can continue to work in the same industries and have the same hobbies that we can do together.
What do you plan to do when you leave college?
Once I left college I went straight into working as a flotilla host in Greece.
What’s the long-term plan?
I would love to work in and around the water, in an ideal world I would get my yachtmaster and work where I’d be able to sail and surf and dive.
Any advice for someone thinking of choosing the same course as you?
Sign up! I had so much fun and find that the longer I have been in both hospitality and instructing industries the things that I have been taught have become more relevant.
