I chose to come to Petroc as the college was close and convenient to where I train and coach (Tarka Tennis.) I chose this course as the content is mainly assignment based.
For me, the highlights have been a two week trip to Romania to coach Tag Rugby and winning the tennis regional tournament representing Petroc at the AoC championships in Plymouth. This enabled me to qualify to represent the South West colleges at the National Championships in Nottingham. This was unfortunately cancelled due to Covid-19.
The thing that I most enjoy about studying at Petroc is the relaxed atmosphere.
When I leave college, I plan to coach and train at the Tarka Tennis centre in Barnstaple and further my career path in Tennis to qualify as a professional LTA Level 4 Performance Tennis Coach.
My advice for anyone thinking of taking this course is to try and complete the assignments early so that you don’t fall behind which will enable college life to be more enjoyable.
