Biography

How did you find your apprenticeship?
I thoroughly enjoyed studying the Team Leading/Supervisor Level 3 Apprenticeship. I thoroughly enjoyed all elements of the course as it was really interesting and great to be able to apply the learning to my everyday role. It has helped increase my confidence in my role and has allowed me to build up great working relationships with my colleagues.

My employer and lecturer were both really supportive throughout my course, from helping me choose the most appropriate apprenticeship suitable to my role, to being provided with great support and mentoring from my lecturer. This helped aid me in my lessons and made me feel prepared and supported when entering my final exams.

What are your recommendations for someone that is thinking of starting an apprenticeship?
I would 100% recommend studying an apprenticeship. Having previously studied the Business Administration Apprenticeship at a previous employer and then continuing my development by studying the Team Leading Apprenticeship, I have found it is a really great route of learning, being able to apply the teaching to your everyday role.

If you are thinking of starting an apprenticeship, make sure you find out as much information as possible and pick an area that you will enjoy. I would also recommend work shadowing your colleagues and always ask if you are not sure. Your lecturers and employers will be there to support you. Most of all, enjoy the course!

What work did you put in to gain a distinction?
I ensured that I turned up to all of my lessons and if I didn’t understand something I would ask my lecturer to explain or go through it again. I found by applying what I was learning into my everyday role, it helped me gain a better understanding and knowledge, helping me remember it more easily. I also ensured that I set regular time aside to work through my assignments, along with plenty of time to revise for the assessments at the end.

How do you feel about gaining your distinction?
I am really pleased and proud about gaining the distinction. I am really thankful for all the help and support that I have had throughout my course and can’t wait to go onto the next level!
