Why did you choose to come to Petroc?
Because it seemed like the best option for me; it is close to where I live, my friends were also planning on going to Petroc and it offered the course that I wanted.

And what made you pick this particular course?
I was encouraged to choose the subjects that I enjoy, and luckily I was able to study them.

Which elements of your study programme/course do you particularly enjoy?
I liked how in Spanish, a lot of it was based upon communicating and talking, but also learning about the culture, and for my other subjects I particularly liked the amount of depth that we went into for each subject; I enjoyed them all.

What were your highlights?
One of my highlights was the Spanish trip to Málaga in my first year, it was not only a great experience but it was also good to actually use the language skills that I had been learning.

What do you most enjoy about studying at Petroc?
The independence that we are given, and how I could specifically study what I wanted.

What do you plan to do when you leave college?
I plan on going to university to study Spanish and Portuguese.

What’s the long-term plan?
For my career, I am not completely sure on what I want to do yet, but something along the lines of Human Rights Law, but in a Spanish or Portuguese speaking country.

Any advice for someone thinking of choosing the same course as you?
My advice would be to not worry about it being ‘too’ difficult, because all subjects are (to some extent) at college in comparison to school, and specifically for languages, you will find it hard at the beginning but it is so rewarding seeing the progress.
