Biography

Why did you choose to come to Petroc?
I chose to study at Petroc mainly due to the course and facilities available.

And what made you pick this particular course?
I chose this course due to the large focus on the theory content (as well as practical). It was also partly due to the very modern facilities on offer (new kitchens etc), and working hands-on in The Taw restaurant.

Which elements of your course do you particularly enjoy?
I especially enjoy the food theory and management lessons.

What have been the highlights so far?
Last year I was chosen to do work experience abroad, in Gothenburg, Sweden. This was a really special opportunity and one that I was very pleased to take part in.

What do you most enjoy about studying at Petroc?
The modern facilities in the Lifestyle Centre.

What do you plan to do when you leave college?
I currently have a conditional offer to study Bakery Science and Technology at London Southbank University. This is something I am really excited to begin.

What’s the long-term plan?
After university, I plan on remaining in London and gaining further experience working in bakeries and patisseries, and eventually have my own business.

Any advice for someone thinking of choosing the same course as you?
Ensure that you have a strong interest in food. The course is extremely rewarding if you’re passionate about the subject, due to the content and opportunities on offer.
