Petroc College of Further and Higher Education via The University of Bolton will be offering the BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) degree in an innovative partnership with Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust, using facilities at Petroc's North Devon Campus in Barnstaple. Taught at Petroc by University of Bolton staff, the programme is designed to prepare you for a successful career caring for people over 18. There is a shortage of qualified nurses in the UK, so the career opportunities are excellent.

The programme is three years in duration and you’ll spend 50% of your time in practice learning experience at Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust, and 50% of your time studying at Petroc which will complement and enhance your learning in the workplace.

Level 3 qualification(s) which include (s) a health and social care subject and is equivalent to 104 UCAS points and 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above or grade 4 to 9. These must include English Language and Mathematics and preferably science.

You will require 104 UCAS points and your GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade c or above or grade 4 to 9.

Placements will be taught at a variety of different locations in the North Devon area connected with Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust. The actual programme will be taught at Petroc’s North Devon Campus, Old Sticklepath Hill, Barnstaple EX31 2BQ.

They will be taught for seven to eight weeks.

Each year of the three year programme is split into three terms. Each term consists of seven to eight weeks at Petroc and seven to eight weeks in placement.

Three days at college and two days self-directed study.
