We are delighted to announce that the Petroc Gym will be open from 7 September with certain restrictions in place. 

  • For everyone’s safety, anyone who wants to use the gym must book a 50-minute gym slot through our booking system.
  • Please ensure you turn up at your allotted time and not before.
  • Upon arrival, you will be asked to sign a Covid-19 consent form. If you do not sign this form, you will not be allowed in the gym area. 
  • There will be no changing rooms available, so please arrive in your appropriate gym kit.
  • Please bring your own water bottle
  • We will supply paper towels, hand sanitisers and wipes for you to clean down the equipment. Please do not use your own personal towels.
  • Please ensure you maintain social distancing when using the gym; this will be monitored by the on-shift instructor.
  • Please be assured that there will always be an instructor there to help and guide you through our new set up.

We hope your experience at Petroc gym can be the best it can be and will help you reach your fitness goals for the rest of 2020.

The Gym

The Gym at Petroc offers a wide range of exercise equipment and classes to help all our members reach their maximum potential in their personal fitness and wellbeing.

Cardiovascular machines include treadmills, bikes, cross trainers, spin bikes and rowing machines. We have also a range of resistance weight machines and free weight dumbbell’s going up to 40kg, a bench press and a max rack with plate weights.

Our exercise classes have been designed to help you lose weight, tone up, gain muscle or improve strength and endurance levels - depending on your own personal goals.

Classes

Yoga

Yoga uses breathing techniques, exercise and meditation. It helps to improve both health and happiness.

Spin

This form of exercise focusses on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity and recovery, and involves using a special stationary exercise bicycle with a weighted flywheel in a classroom setting.

Pilates

Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance.

Met Booster

This is a 45 minute heart-raising class designed to help burn calories and improve cardiovascular fitness

Spin Combo

Spin combo is a 45 minute cardio and resistance weight class all mixed into one routine to create that ultimate workout.

Cardio Blast

This 45 minute high intensity circuit class is great for cardiovascular fitness, muscle toning and endurance.
