Petroc: A College Transformed
Petroc is celebrating a year of complete transformation after Ofsted’s latest monitoring visit confirmed it is a college transformed, with “Significant Progress” recorded in every area inspected.
The report praised the highly effective leadership and strategic action that have improved achievement, strengthened teaching, and created an exceptional learning experience for students.
Inspectors highlighted:
- A sharp rise in achievement for 16–18 learners, including those with high needs.
- High-quality work experience opportunities, including placements in parliamentary offices, gaming shops, and specialist employers.
- Rapid improvements in maths teaching, with more students achieving higher grades and increased enjoyment of the subject.
- A vibrant personal development programme, covering topics from healthy eating and British values to AI awareness, resilience, and sexual health.
Interim Principal Kurt Hintz said:
