Successful A Level Open Event Showcases New Opportunities for Future Students

North Devon College was delighted to welcome prospective students and their families to its recent A Level Open Event, offering inspiring insights into the opportunities available to those considering their next steps after secondary school.

The event attracted Year 10 and Year 11 students keen to explore A Level study and discover what life at North Devon College has to offer. Visitors had the opportunity to meet experienced A Level lecturers, explore the campus, and learn more about the wide range of subjects and enrichment opportunities available.

A highlight of the evening was the A Level presentation delivered by Jade Otty, Senior Lead for North Devon College, who introduced several exciting new initiatives, including the Reach Academy, the Extend Programme, the Excel Programme, and the College’s enhanced academies. These programmes have been designed to help students maximise their potential, develop valuable skills, and prepare for progression to university, apprenticeships, and future careers.

The event also provided students with the opportunity to ask questions, receive expert advice, and begin planning their educational journey with confidence.

Speaking after the event, Year 11 student Emily said: “I came along to find out more about studying A Levels at North Devon College since it changed from Petroc, and I was really impressed by everything on offer. The lecturers were friendly and helpful, and it was great to hear about all the extra bits, like the academies and things that help you prepare for university and careers. I’m looking forward to starting in September.”

North Devon College would like to thank everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. It was fantastic to see so many prospective students engaging with the opportunities on offer and taking positive steps towards their future.
