Petroc Celebrates GCSE Students’ Success

Petroc is thrilled to announce further student success, following this yearโ€™s A Level cohort, with students achieving fantastic results in both GCSE and Step Up To A Level programmes. This year’s students have demonstrated resilience, dedication, and ambition, overcoming challenges to reach their personal academic goals.

Our Step Up To A Level programme has seen strong results, with many students now progressing confidently into their chosen A Level and vocational courses. The program, designed to bridge the gap between GCSE and A Level, has given students the opportunity to build a solid foundation for future academic success.

โ€œThis year’s results are a testament to the hard work of both our students and staff. The dedication weโ€™ve seen has been exceptional, and weโ€™re delighted that so many students have been able to reach their full potential. These achievements show what is possible with determination and the right support.โ€ said Deputy Principal, Jason Jones.ย

GCSE sโ€‹tudent Jasmin, said: โ€œOriginally I was studying childcare but I really wanted to switch to an art course. Getting my GCSE results has given me what I need to be accepted onto the art course and I canโ€™t wait to start!โ€ย  Fellow student, Abby, also shared her excitement, saying: โ€œNow that I’ve got my GCSE results, I’m one step closer to becoming a mobile hairdresserโ€.

Assistant Principal, Jo Byrne also shared her excitement, adding: “It’s truly inspiring to see the progress our students make year after year. Their commitment and passion for learning has shone through once again, and they should be incredibly proud of themselves. We canโ€™t wait to see what they will achieve next as they continue their studies here at Petroc.โ€

Petroc celebrates the determination of students resitting their GCSEs, as well as adults returning to education to achieve their qualifications later in life. Mature student Jeffrey Humphries who is proudly in his 70โ€™s said: โ€œ I never got my GCSEs when I was younger but I thought it was about time, Iโ€™m really happy to have passed with such great results.โ€

These individuals exemplify the power of perseverance and lifelong learning, proving that itโ€™s never too late to further oneโ€™s skills and knowledge. Whether it’s to open new doors, advance in a career, or gain a sense of personal accomplishment, their commitment to education is an inspiring reminder that success is always within reach.

Petroc remains committed to providing high-quality education and support for students as they embark on their academic journeys, from GCSEs to A Levels, all the way to degree-level qualifications.ย
