Tiverton Campus Launch

Following a summer of extensive renovation work, we were proud to unveil some amazing new facilities at the launch of Petroc Tiverton today.

Nicky White, Tiverton campus manager and lecturer said, “Our team have worked tirelessly through the summer to bring together an amazing new experience for our learners. Our new facilities will help our learners achieve their potential and enjoy a positive journey along the way.”

The campus’s brand new reception area now encompasses a large social space with a new Costa area and plenty of relaxing seating.

The remainder of the campus has been reworked into a series of ‘Hubs’ where students can study and socialise.

The Digital Learning & Social Hub includes a virtual reality/augmented reality suite as well as learning pods, a library and areas for communal working.

The Futures Hub building is home to a brand new Business Suite with a modern communal learning space, updated classrooms and computer suites, as well as the Clinical Simulation Suite which provides true-to-life clinical environments where students can practice hands-on clinical skills. It also houses the new Fitness Centre – which is open to students and staff as well as the general public. The Centre has loads of new equipment, a new studio space, a functional training room with rubber floors and new rigs, and new changing rooms and showers.

The Construction Hub incorporates industry-standard carpentry workshops and bricklaying and plastering stations for students.

Work is underway on the new Learner Success Hub which is a dedicated space for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). It will include new classroom and workshop spaces, a teaching kitchen and cafe, a therapy room, sensory garden, quiet rooms and independent living environments. It also has dedicated accessible toilet and changing facilities with ceiling track and hoist. We hope to officially open this space after the October half term.

Sheena Murphy-Collett, Vice Principal People, Organisational Development and Engagement said, “Our Petroc Tiverton campus is on a journey of transformation, seeking to shape our community college in line with the needs of local schools, businesses and stakeholders. We are excited to share our progress at our launch event today and look forward to welcoming our community in.”
