Johnathon Carter

Johny is the newest member of the Petroc coaching team, and he comes with a wealth of experience as both rugby player and coach.

Johny represented Devon at both age grade and senior levels and, whilst playing for Devon under 20’s in the County Championship, was selected to represent South West Counties under 20’s.

At senior rugby, Johny spent eight seasons in Spain playing for El Salvador in the Top Spanish division as a professional player. He has competed in tournaments featuring England, Spain, Nigeria, Sweden, premiership sides Northampton Saints and Saracens, as well as the British Army.

Following his time in Spain, Johny signed for Barnstaple RFC as a player coach where he supports, guides and trains the team in both attack and defence.

Johny can’t wait to get started coaching our rugby squad and we are very excited to have him on board!
