Petroc Go Sweden – Strengthening International Friendships and Skills

Nineteen students from Petroc’s Academic Progression Pathway recently returned from an enriching eight-day trip to Katrineholm, Sweden, as part of the Petroc Go Sweden programme. Accompanied by four dedicated staff members, the group reconnected with long-standing host partner, Duveholms Gymnasiesärskola, in a visit that blended cultural exchange with personal development.

During their time at Duveholms, students immersed themselves in the Swedish educational environment, engaging with local students and staff. They explored differences in teaching styles and even picked up some basic Swedish language, an experience that deepened their global awareness and appreciation for international education systems.

The trip continued with a journey to the vibrant city of Stockholm, where the group participated in a mix of course-related activities and cultural sightseeing. Highlights included visits to the Paradox Museum and Viking Museum, offering students an engaging blend of fun, history, and learning.

Throughout the visit, students developed essential life skills such as teamwork, independence, and communication—all of which contribute to their future employability.

This exciting opportunity was made possible through funding from the UK Turing Scheme, supporting the college’s commitment to offering transformative learning experiences beyond the classroom.
