Petroc Music Students Shine in Electrifying End-of-Year Showcase

Music students at Petroc brought the house down at the end of term during their highly anticipated End-of-Year Performance, transforming the campus into a vibrant hub of creativity, rhythm, and innovation.
Held in the college’s performance space, the Nexus, the event was a true celebration of student talent, collaboration, and passion for the arts. Both performance and music technology students took to the stage, and behind the scenes, to deliver a night of unforgettable live entertainment.
The evening featured full band performances, where original compositions and cover renditions reverberated through the venue, highlighting the impressive musicality and stage presence of the performers. From soaring vocalists and tight rhythm sections to dynamic guitar solos and more, the live acts kept the audience energised throughout the night.
In a seamless blend of artistry and technology, students specialising in music technology curated a series of professional-grade DJ sets, transforming the space into a full-on dance floor experience. With custom lighting rigs and live sound mixing, all student operated. The showcase doubled as a demonstration of technical expertise and show production skills.
The students worked incredibly hard to put this all together, and it really paid off, It’s not just about the performances — it’s about the collaboration, the behind-the-scenes work, the sound engineering, the lighting. The showcase was a real team effort!
Audience members included family, friends, local music lovers, and industry guests, many of whom praised the high level of professionalism and talent on display.
The event serves as both a capstone for the academic year and a springboard for many students heading into the creative industries or higher education.
