Students showcase their creativity, confidence and professional flair at this year’s Hair Show
The event brought together Hair & Beauty students, each competing in a series of themed challenges designed to test both technical skill and artistic vision. This year’s themes included: Modern Gentleman, Catwalk Grunge, 60s Era, Masked Ball, Bridgerton and Safari – each offering students the opportunity to interpret classic and contemporary styles in bold and imaginative ways.
Throughout the day, students competed in front of peers, staff and invited guests, demonstrating not only their styling expertise but also their ability to present and perform.
The show concluded in two final catwalk presentations, where students proudly showcased their completed looks alongside their models. The runway came alive with a striking mix of textures, colours and silhouettes, reflecting the diversity of inspiration behind each theme.
Lecturers praised the high standard of work on display, noting the dedication and professionalism shown by all participants. The event provided a valuable platform for students to gain real-world experience, build confidence and celebrate their achievements in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Lucy Skinner, Hair Lecturer said “This year’s competition has been truly inspiring. The students have not only embraced the theme with enthusiasm, but have also showcased it with remarkable creativity, confidence, and individuality. Their passion and dedication shine through in every piece. This would not have been possible without the continued encouragement and support of our staff, whose guidance and belief in the students have helped them to flourish and achieve their very best.”
The Hair Show continues to be a highlight of the college calendar, offering learners the chance to shine and take an important step towards their future careers in the hair and beauty industry.
