Collaboration Catwalk ‘23

On Tuesday 21 March, we welcomed an array of salon owners and special guests to our Lifestyle Centre in Barnstaple to witness a spectacular display of talent from our hair, beauty, media makeup and performing arts students in the form of the Collaboration Catwalk.

Level 3 NVQ Hairdressing students created their work around the theme of ‘Space’ and ‘Forests’ and our Level 3 apprenticeship Hairdressing students showcased their work around a ‘Zodiac Sign’ theme – the audience were astounded at the high level of work produced by our students.

The show also included outstanding work from our Level 2 Hairdressing, Barbering, Makeup and Dance students, whilst catering students provided delicious canapes and beverages.

The event was a huge success, with many people viewing our Livestream on Facebook!

A total of £290.66 was also raised for Little Willow’s Wish charity, which supports families of critically ill children, with supply boxes full of everyday essentials.

Bill Blythe, Vice-Principal, Finance, Resources & Regional Affairs at Petroc, said: “What a wonderful evening, the dedication and talent of our students is truly inspiring, congratulations to all the award winners and huge thanks to all the dedicated and expert staff and our brilliant employers who make this possible.”

Well done to all who took part in the event, especially to Brendan Foreman for organising and making the event a great success on the night.

Brendan Foreman, Lecturer in Hairdressing and organiser of the event, said: “I’m so proud of each and every one of our students for their hard work and commitment to Collaboration Catwalk ‘23. Their resilience and talent is so inspiring, and I couldn’t be prouder. The build up and the support for our second catwalk has been incredible and yet again the generosity we have received towards our chosen charity from our local businesses has been amazing. Thank you to the salons and stylists who supported our learners and were able to attend. We believe it’s so important for our hairdressing community to come together to celebrate our creativity and achievements. Thank you to all involved that made Collaboration Catwalk ‘23 possible!”
