Former Student Debbie Beer Inspires Future Biomedical Scientists
Petroc was delighted to welcome back former student Debbie Beer for a guest lecture that left students inspired and informed. Debbie, who completed the Human Bioscience Foundation Degree at Petroc, has since forged a successful career as a Biomedical Scientist in the Pathology Laboratory at North Devon District Hospital.
During her visit, Debbie shared invaluable insights into the day-to-day realities of her role, giving students a clear understanding of what the job involves. She also explained the various pathways available for pursuing a career in Biomedical Science, offering practical advice and motivation for those considering this rewarding field.
“We were incredibly proud to have Debbie return to share her experiences,” said Lizzie Grew, Science Lecturer. “Her journey is a shining example of what our students can achieve, and her lecture gave them a tangible connection to the possibilities that lie ahead.”
