Performing Arts Students Delight Audiences with Dick Whittington at The Nexus
Petroc Performing Arts students brought festive joy to The Nexus on the Barnstaple campus last week with their captivating production of Dick Whittington. The pantomime, a cornerstone of British holiday tradition, showcased the students’ exceptional talents across acting, singing, and dancing.
Throughout the week, the students performed matinées to enthusiastic audiences of local primary school children, many of whom experienced the magic of live theatre for the first time. The performances concluded with public shows on Wednesday, December 11, and Thursday, December 12, drawing theatre lovers and families to celebrate the season in style.
Audiences were thrilled by the energy, humour, and creativity of the production, which featured all the classic elements of a panto—plenty of laughs, memorable songs, and even a few surprises. The Nexus provided the perfect professional setting, allowing the students to shine while inspiring the next generation of performers and theatregoers.
This successful run of Dick Whittington highlights the dedication and passion of our Performing Arts students, leaving audiences eagerly anticipating their next performance, to be announced very soon!
