Diploma In Electrical Installation Level 1
This Level 1 qualification allows you to progress into further learning in the Building Services sector. You will acquire practical skills to complete basic Electrotechnical tasks.
Mandatory Units:
-Structure of the construction industry
-Fundamental safe working practices
-Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings
-Site preparation for working in the construction industry
-Electrical installation wiring and terminations
-Fabrication techniques for electrical installation
-Electrical science and technology
This framework qualification helps you develop craft and hand-skills, preparing you for further learning within Electrotechnical fields. All units focus on enhancing your practical skills and demonstrating your ability to complete common industry tasks. This standalone qualification is suitable for anyone aged 16 and over. The study programme consists of a vocational diploma, Maths and English, work experience and essential digital skills and the Curriculum is enriched with Site visits and co delivery from Industry experts

Assessments
Assessments are split by subject ‘unit’ to test the competence of a candidate over a wide range of activities.
These will take the form of short practical electrical assemblies and written tests which are assessed by the tutor.
You’ll also need to build a portfolio of your coursework for assessment.
Entry Requirements
You do not need to have any previous qualifications although all applicants will need to have an interview
Progression
Learners successfully completing this qualification can progress their careers by registering for other qualifications such as:
– Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures)
– Diploma level 3 Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment)
– Opportunities also exist for learners moving into the newly developing area of sustainability
